At River Nervión, close to Bilbao.
        She was built, together with her sister ship Fernando Poo, by Sociedad Española de Construcción Naval at Sestao. During her life she was sailing mainly to the Spanish Guinea line, although also sailed other lines, and one voyage to Brazil-Uruguay-Argentina.
        During the Civil War she was auxiliar cruiser, troops and weapons transport, and also transported Muslim pilgrims to Arabia. On 1958 she was again transporting troops and weapons to Sidi Ifni.
      Her sister ship Fernando Poo was sunk few months after her delivery. It happened on 15/October/1936 at Bata (Spanish Guinea) by the auxiliar cruiser Ciudad de Mahon.
